Samix is one half of Sayre and Samix, who
began LFG when they dropped the “One
Side Away” EP in 2001. Following that release, Samix
handled nearly all the production on both Pacific Avenue (2003) and
Ashkon's The Fine Line (2004).
His current project is an joint effort with Canadian rapper Josh Martinez to be released on
Martinez's Camobear label, entitled Midriff Music. With a
total of 10 tracks, Midriff features 3 Samix instrumental pieces, and
already has generated buzz among Martinez fans who have copped bootlegs of
the album. With Josh's cult-like following and his relentless
touring schedule, Midriff is sure to be a success and bring more
recognition to the producer that LFG fans regard as one of the most
underappreciated beatmakers in hip hop.
Samix's "One More Sucka" appears on the New Recruits compilation,
which is currently available on Camobear Records.
